With our convenient location on the bustling Ventura Boulevard, near major attractions like Universal Studios Hollywood and Pantages Theatre, Sportsmen’s Lodge is always minutes away from exciting events. And this St. Patrick’s Day is no exception. Keep reading to learn more about upcoming festivities happening near our hotel!
Hollywood Block Party and Pub Crawl
By far Hollywood’s largest St. Patrick’s Day event is the Hollywood Block Party and Pub Crawl. The Hollywood Crawl will be on both Saturday, March 14 (for those of us that have to work) and Tuesday, March 17. Over ten different restaurants and bars, all within blocks of each other, will be participating this year. Early purchased tickets are $13 and regular tickets are $23. Redeem your tickets at St. Felix (13 minutes away from Sportsmen’s) to pick up a wristband that grants you access and drink specials at the participating venues. Here are a few deals you can expect:
- Felix – free welcome shot with purchase / 2 for 1 fireball shots
- Pig N’ Whistle – $2 domestic beer / $4 guinness / $4 whiskey shots
- Baja Beach Bar – $4 shamrock shots
- Luchini Pizzeria – free welcome shot / $7 slice & beer
- Wood & Vine – 20% off all food / $10 specialty cocktails
Flogging Molly at Hollywood Palladium
On St. Patrick’s Day this year, you can catch a free performance by Flogging Molly, with special guests Mad Caddies and Street Dogs, at the Hollywood Palladium, located just 14 minutes from the hotel. The show begins at 6 p.m. and you can RSVP here. In case you’ve never heard of them, Flogging Molly is an Irish-American Celtic punk band, originally formed in Dublin. Their music features lots of classic Folk instruments, like the tin whistle, accordion and banjo.
Fishy Green Ale at The Three Broomsticks
Just ten minutes away from Sportsmen’s Lodge, Universal Studios Hollywood attracts families from near and far to Studio City. The park features several movie-inspired rides and walk-through attractions, like the Wizarding World of Harry Potter. Now through St. Patrick’s Day, grab a seat in The Three Broomsticks pub (located in HP World) for a large glass of Fishy Green Ale. This vibrant non-alcoholic green drink has a creamy mint flavor, notes of cinnamon and blueberry “fish eggs” at the bottom. Weird, but good.
Happy Hour at Rock and Reilly’s
Travel less than 20 minutes from Sportsmen’s Lodge into West Hollywood and you’ll find the Irish pub, Rock and Reilly’s. Serving up all sorts of delicious Irish snacks and meals, this pub is known for their great happy hour. Monday through Friday (that means on St. Paddy’s Day) from 5 p.m. – 7 p.m., everything on the menu is 50% off. Stop by on St. Patrick’s Day for a corned beef sandwich and tall glass of Guinness.
Book Your Stay at the Historic Sportsmen’s Lodge
