This April, pay homage to Earth Day and help Studio City’s local aquatic life at the same time by participating in the Great LA River CleanUp. Starting April 13, volunteers have the opportunity to remove trash and litter along the LA River shore. Why? To make Los Angeles’ waterways cleaner and safer! More details about how you can participate, below.
Details About the Great LA River CleanUp
On April 13, April 20 and April 27, join the Friends of the LA River for their annual Great LA River Clean Up! Participants will gather at multiple sites along the river from 9 a.m. – 12 p.m. April 13 will cover the Upper River area, April 20 focuses on the Middle River, while April 27 takes care of the Lower River. Coordinators recommend that volunteers wear comfy clothes that they don’t mind getting dirty, along with tennis shoes or boots. Gloves and trash bags will be provided, so don’t worry about bringing your own. All interested volunteers are required to register and encouraged to do so early.
Other Ways to Help
Not interested in the actual cleanup? No problem! There’s still plenty of ways you can support a healthy and thriving LA River. As a business, you can sponsor the event. Sponsorship can range from your logo on a t-shirt, to recognition in event press, and more. And as an individual, you can promote the CleanUp’s efforts! Print some flyers and hang them around town or share them digitally via social media. Stay in the loop with all the latest River happenings by joining the Friends of the LA River mailing list.
